Lovely image, and accompanying piece, should be up in a cafe in Blackrock, David! Really like the zoom in, zoom out of the noticing and muse, and there's a lovely beat and sound to the words.
This is a good poem and all those images make it even better. But one thing, why permanent things? Nothing stays forever. Why to call it that. It reads like irony to me. Well, maybe you had your good reasons.

Thanks so much Síodhna! Finding inspiration in old photographic works has been an interesting pursuit!
Yeah, it had that pulse, maybe from the waves, great images, good job.
Thanks Weston!
Gorgeous poem and collage. The line "And flipped its innards overboard" startled me each time I read it.
🙏🙏🙏
David, stunning image. Thank you for sharing.
Wow thank you so much for reading and leaving a comment 🙏🙏
I can see a severed hand trying to escape on the left of the pic! Love 'flipped it's innards overboard.'
😅 probably a few severed things in there somewhere, that place was a bit of a wreck before they tore it down. Thanks so much for reading 🙏
The tale of the magic of a mineral
🙏🙏 happy to have you reading my tales.
Really enjoyed this one, David, especially the creative use of science/metallurgy terms in the first stanza.

Caught by the rhythm of it, I keep reading until it wears me down "into another permanent thing".
Gorgeous, David!!!
