Have you ever felt yourself sliding over the sheets towards the edge as you drift away?
Expecting the ceiling to scroll out of view as you tip backwards over the pillow like a train carriage ejected into a chasm. Chasing the missing tracks into the abyss, end-tipping-over-end as it silently slinks through the air - never hitting the bottom.
The slide is perpetual and sustained. Your insides lift as your skin pulls up and off the bone. You fall out of yourself. Continuously falling out of yourself and staying totally still - all at once.
Have you ever felt the world spinning?
The fizz as we whirl and swing through space-time in eternal pursuit of the Sun. So constant is the vacuum that our momentum has become inherent. A baseline sensation that we filter out in pursuit of balance and reality. And yet… we are spinning, and swinging, and falling, and staying still - all at once.
And we fall towards the perpetual ending and beginning at the centre of it all. Reality thrusting through the pinhole, exploding away from us in a devastating wake of occurrence and decision. Our memory dissipating into the past; spiralling out until it is flattened and forgotten as a flat plane - all at once.
And we consolidate our day as we drift off into the nothingness each night. Glancing back over the expanse of choice and consequence as it crumbles and splashes into stardust. Accelerating us into the void and laying waste to sensation and thought and reason.
Until the very tick of time and occurrence is suspended, and gravity and wave and particle and energy are dissolved into nothingness and no more - all at once.

Thank you so much for reading my work. It means a huge amount to me to have even 1 minute of your time, let alone the attention needed to read and understand these words. If you like what you see tell other people about it - it is the absolute best way to support me and my work and I would appreciate it hugely.

This is stunning. Prose describing the dissolution of the ego (at least my interpretation)...💡
Wow. Very well written. And bravo on conveying something so inherently hard to convey.
