Yea its a nice past time just people watching. In some ways just not being lost in your phone is 90% of the effort but unfortunately it goes both ways and these days I see a lot of poeple just sitting there on their phones ... Probably having the chats on Substack 😅

i have to make a really concentrated effort to not look at instagram. which mostly involves me turning my phone to airplane mode for certain periods of time.

People watching, one of my lifelong favourite things, great sources for inspiration. Lovely noticings here, David. Captured to bring us there.

Yes just stop and look around. Whether it be people, birds, clouds, waves... The steam from the kettle 😂

Such delicate observations woven together beautifully in this collection of poems. The 1st was my favourite, then the 2nd, then the 3rd... I'm reading this on the shuttle bus down to the giants causeway, it's thronged with tourist. Sitting with your poems is a welcome pause.

A little different was one of the first pieces from you that I read. I remember thinking "oh she makes sense!" I enjoyed reading all of this and how the energy of café life and presumably city life give inspiration.

Oh fantastic so intetesting to hear that is what you first read. Yes sometimes it can feel like a study on a type of person or personality, such that its not about who they are but how they act or come across and then that is what breathes life into the character.
